Our History

Sooke Harbour House boasts a rich history dating back to the 1920s when it was initially established as a family residence. In the 1970s, Frederique and Sinclair Philip transformed it into a unique hotel and restaurant, quickly gaining renown for their commitment to showcasing local, seasonal ingredients and pioneering the farm-to-table movement, making Sooke Harbour House an iconic destination on Vancouver Island.

"The history of Sooke Harbour House is a testament to an enduring commitment to hospitality and culinary excellence. As we enter into a new era of operations, we strive to honour our legacy while continually evolving to exceed the expectations of our guests"

Alex Watson - Director
