From your rehearsal dinner to photography and florals, a wedding in our edible landscape with the majestic Olympic Mountains as a backdrop will surround your family and friends with a wedding that embraces you in celebration. Sooke Harbour House Resort Hotel takes care of all the details so you can relax and enjoy your special day.

Inspired by ingredients grown in our gardens or locally sourced from one of our many farmer friends, our Chef will create a menu to please. Choose from a grand multi course dinner with BC wines paired by our Sommelier, to an elegant cocktail reception or a buffet fit for a King and Queen, the options are endless. All our menus are developed and sourced by our Chefs daily. Menus are largely left to his discretion with some room allowed for guest input. We do our best to work with all food allergies and restrictions.

Wedding Guidelines

Your wedding ceremony can take place in our Upper Gardens, our Totem Pole site, or indoors in our elegant Potlatch Room. Included in the ceremony site fee are white folding chairs and your signing table with chair, set by our service team. A complimentary rehearsal time, based on availability, can be scheduled prior to your ceremony.

Photography may be taken in any of the public areas of the hotel, suggested locations can be advised by our staff, the gardens and hotel are available on a non-exclusive basis for photographs.

Our service team will set your reception room with basic white table linens and chair covers along with basic table and glassware. If you choose to personalize the decor you can do so with approval from your Events Manager. Please note that the use of nails, glue, tape or any other materials that may damage surfaces are not permitted. Arrangements to deliver decor, fresh florals and outsourced wedding cakes to the hotel prior to your event date must be made through the Events Manager.

Food and Beverage
All food and beverage service, except for wedding cakes, must be provided by the resort. A plating fee will be applied for outsourced wedding cakes. All menus are created by our Chef daily. Food allergies and restrictions are considered when creating the menu for you. The resort offers a wine list strongly supporting BC wineries. All beverages are charged on a consumption basis with the option to serve either a Hosted or Cash Bar Service. Requests for corkage fees are respectfully declined.

Music and Entertainment
Live music or pre-recorded music on an iPod or MP3 device is permitted for before and after your ceremony and pre-dinner cocktail reception. DJ’s and bands must be pre-approved by the Event Manager. All music must be turned off by 11:00pm. In consideration of hotel guests all music will be controlled at the discretion of the Sooke Harbour House Resort Hotel management. In the event of noise complaints from in-house guests because of music after 11:00pm any financial compensation incurred by the hotel will be billed to the Wedding Master account.



A selection of guest rooms be held under your wedding name and made available to your guests to book by calling the Front Desk. Guest rooms will be held until 60 days prior to your event date, after which time guest rooms not booked will be released from your room block. Guests would then book based on availability and at regular reservation rates. Check in time is 3:00pm – for wedding ceremonies taking place before that time, we recommend that your guests check-in the day before or arrive in their wedding attire the day of the wedding. Changing facilities are not available. Guests not staying at the Sooke Harbour House Resort Hotel must park in our overflow parking lot located across the street from the hotel.

Keys to the Inn

$9,500 – $ 15 000.00 + tax depending on season

Booking Your Event
To reserve your date, a non – refundable deposit in the amount of 25% of the total estimate for your reception is required. Your credit card will be held on file for a guarantee of any additional charges. A second deposit of the remaining balance of the total estimated charges in required 30 days prior to the event date.

Wedding Ceremony Sites and Reception Room Capacities
Our wedding ceremony setup includes: White folding chairs and table and chair for registry signing, indoor back up space in case of inclement weather and access to the gardens for photography.

We’ll use only the finest and freshest ingredients to make a beautiful and divine wedding cake fit for you. Plain White Cake
White sponge cake layered with a light, Italian buttercream

Chocolate Cake
Dark chocolate sponge cake soaked with rum, layered with dark chocolate mousse and coated with dark chocolate ganache, garnished with flowers and chocolate.

Fruity Cake
White sponge cake layered with seasonal fruit mousse (raspberry, strawberry, blackcurrant, plum, pear, apricot, etc.) coated with chocolate ganache or rolled fondant for a white option, garnished with flowers and seasonal fruits.
